As one of the co-applicant of the "BeLISAC" project, the national research and education network of Srilanka, LEARN (Lanka Research and Education Network) has made significant contributions to the project. They have agreed to carry out some responsibilities which include- Preparing the specifications of the servers to be procured, helping TEIN*CC in collecting quotations and evaluations, paying BdREN 10% cost of the servers. installing and configuring one (1) server to be procured by TEIN*CC, recruiting the “Female Engineer”, arrange Capacity Development Programs for ten (10) NREN and University Engineers. Moreover, DrukREN will produce a monthly report to NORDUnet. As per the agreed responsibilities of recruiting female engineers for a period of a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 2 years, Ms Mercy Adandakumar will be joining the program.
She will get a platform to develop herself as she will be groomed by an expert to be appointed by NORDUnet. This will again work as a deterrent for gender disparity. She will get the opportunity to showcase her activities to the outside world (outside APAN community). Her praiseworthy performance will uplift the image of the APAN community.
